This piece grew out of my fascination with the resilience and quiet beauty of moss. Without roots, moss attaches itself through muscle-like structures, existing across almost any surface. Different species live alongside one another, forming entire ecosystems beyond what the naked eye can see.
After a visit to a sacred site deep in the forests of Lebanon I was moved by the scale moss took up attached to walls full of rock. I wanted to translate the interplay between the organic form of moss and angularity of rock.
